Research Notes: David Cunningham notes: Noted events in his life were: • Occupation: Coachman, 1851. 1 • Occupation: Gardener, 1841. • Occupation: Farmer, 1871. Farmed 7 acres Matthew married Mary Ann. (Mary Ann was born about 1793, died in 1831 and was buried on 3 Jul 1831 in Buxton, Norfolk, England 2.) Matthew next married Mary Dyke, daughter of Thomas Dyke and Ann Brigden, on 22 Jan 1833 in Lamas, Buxton, Norfolk, England. (Mary Dyke was baptised on 22 Sep 1800 in Tuttington, Norfolk, England,3 died in 1861 and was buried on 18 Nov 1861 in Buxton, Norfolk, England 4.) Noted events in their marriage were: • Marriage Banns, 6 Jan 1833, Tuttington, Norfolk, England. Also on the 13 and 20 January (or could be June as writing is unclear). Matthew is stated as a Widower and Mary a "Single Woman". It is assumed from this that Matthew's first wife was also called Mary (Ann) and that she died between 1830 and 1833.
