He purchased in 1792, the estate of Craigsanquhar, Fifeshire, which at one period formed a part of Lathallan, but had been disjoined from it in 1524
Nathaniel married Mary Milliken, daughter of James Milliken Esquire and Jean McDowell, in 1759. (Mary Milliken was born in Milliken, Renfrewshire, Scotland and died on 3 Mar 1774.)
