Richard Tinline
General Notes: Born in 1772, and chr. 17 Jun 1773 in Roxburgh, Roxburghshire, son of James and Ann (White) Tinline [SCR as Tinlane, RLC, tombstone]. He was a servant at Turn, Kirktown, Roxburghshire [reg.]. In 1801 he was living in Turn, Kirktown, working as a servant [LBR]. He married Isabel Oliver on 11 Apr 1802 in Kirktown, Roxburghshire [reg.]. She was born c. Feb 1771, the daughter of Francis Oliver, a tenant at Turn, Kirktown [reg., calc.]. At the time of their marriage, he was living at Turn, and she was living at Newmill, Kirktown [reg.]. They were living in Kirktown, Roxburghshire in Mar 1803, Jun 1805, May 1807, Feb 1809, and in Wilton, Roxburghshire in Oct 1810, Oct 1812, Mar 1815, Dec 1817 [reg., SCR]. They immigrated to Canada (daughter Margaret in 1834 – cen.). He died 12 Jan 1851 in Binbrook, Wentworth Co., Ontario, age 79 [GP]. She died 12 Aug 1854 in Binbrook, age 83 and 6 months [GP]. Both bur. in Knox Presbyterian Cemetery, Binbrook [OCFA, GP]. Children: Mary, Anne, Isobel, James, Francis, Helen, Margaret, Christian. Noted events in his life were: • Occupation: Servant, 1801, Turn, Kirktown, Roxburghshire. • Emigration: to Canada, 1834. Richard married Isabel Oliver, daughter of Francis Oliver and Unknown, on 11 Apr 1802 in Kirktown, Roxburghshire. (Isabel Oliver was born about Feb 1771.) |
