Sarah Toft

  General Notes:

Sarah Toft the second daughter of Ralph Toft was christened in
St John
the Baptist Church in Puttenham in 1674. Where Ralph Toft came from and who his
parents or wife were is not clear. She was one of five children(1m,4f)

At the age of nineteen she married George Penfold and was to start a family of
of Penfolds that was to stay in Puttenham for over 200 years until the last
Penfold Ellen Penfold married David Grey in 1872. Where George Penfold came
from is also not recorded at this stage.

Sarah and George had two children, George born sometime between 1693 and 1694
What is recorded is that Sarah died along with her baby in 1794. They were
buried on 20 Dec 1794.

The family of Toft is still recorded as living in Compton in 1802 when a
William Toft was christened on Oct 17 1802, son of James and Annie Toft.

An Ann Toft married a George Penfold c 1750

Sarah married George Penfold on 2 Feb 1693 in St John the Bap., Puttenham, Surrey, England.
