George Grey the second son of David and Ellen Grey became a master bootmaker in Puttenham and owned a shop at the top of The Steet in Puttenham. He married Kate Garlick and they had two sons George and William. Unfortunately Kate was to die while still relatively young and George married a long time friend from Puttenham, Ellen who became stepmother to the two boys. William was born on 20th October 1812 at Puttenham where he spent all his childhood.
On September 12th 1935, William married Alice West from Thursley. He had spotted her cycling through Puttenham one day, thought her pretty and decided to chase her to ask her out. They have two children, Brenda and Michael. Brenda's first marriage was to Brian Mullard from Farncombe. They have one daughter, Sharon Louise. Sharon has a daughter Kelly Maria.
Michael married Lynn Cresswell, from Reigate, Surrey. They have two children Claire, born 1980 and Emma born 1983. They live at Alton in Hampshire.
George married Kathleen Rainsford from Chestant, Herts. They had two sons, David who has married twice and lives in London. He is involved in film production for T.V. Derek has remained unmarried and lives locally.
